Angry and Moist: An Undead Chronicle

I'm putting a bit of effort into it, with proper lighting (even if it has the cheapest, most cobbled together lab in the world).

Tell me what you think.

I was thinking that... it's a sad day when you have to put camera noise back on a shot to make it match...

I intend to shoot with a shotgun mic taped to the end of a broom-handle [img]tongue.gif[/img]

That was mainly a test of the lights that I turned into a trailer.

you can get extendable metal clothes line props that go to 8feet for ?1.99 in a shop like Boys. Thats what i used... except i modded it... put a few screws through to reduce rattling when fully ended and mounted on a bracket to attack the mic.

However you mount the mic i would reccomend you get a shockmount, its a cradle that holds the mic reducing all the handling nioses. Without it i found any movement of fingers on the boom was picked up. You can get them for ?17 at Keene.co.uk

See if you can get some of those eyes which you can throw against windows, they would look a lot more realistic than the ones who used there. Also, sorry to be picky, but maybe put some fingernails on the hand as it seems to have grown them when it attacks you.

on a purely technical piont of view the sound lets the movie down alot, it just instantly seems amateurish. Perhaps you should invest in a cheap shotgun mic. I got the audio technica atr55 for ?65 and mounted it on a clothes line prop and the results are very good.

"Angry and Moist" looks like a fun little project. As a teaser, it works... I really want to see more!

I agree 100% about the eyeballs in the jar. My first thought was that somewhere on the planet, there's a blind sock-puppet.

Also, you may want to reconsider the color red for the text. It doesn't really stand out very well against the some of the shots. For example, "They said it was wrong to experiment on the dead..." is red text on top of a shot that is lit with red lights. It might be easier to read if the text was white, or maybe try adding a soft drop-shadow to the red text. That would help distinguish the text from the background.

Aside from that, good work. Very entertaining.

Looks interesting. I like the cartoony eyes. It kind of fits with the rest of the teaser.

Argh! Cartoony! I hate that word... it's the word that made me fail my art A-level (well, I got an E, barely)

But yeah, I'm not really going for realism for this flick... it has zombie Mormons (somewhat inspired by the zombie Hare Krishna in Dawn of the Dead [img]biggrin.gif[/img] )

This is the really a test of the lighting, which no one's really commented on in any great detal, but as long as it's somewhat entertaining, that's okay! [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]
